I think you can see the beginnings of some great hair skills! I'm on Spring Break right now and obviously think torturing my child with pictures that will come back to haunt her some day is entertainment. :-) You have to admit she looks like she likes it?

Amika likes to be in the swing after a bath. Because her hair is wet I will usually put the bib over her head to keep her warm. AND oh look she loves her thumb

We got a lot done this weekend. Amika finally has a room to call her own. Grandma did a great job decorating.

Grandpa and Ropers

Grandpa went to the Black Hills Stock Show. He got Amika some cool pink Ropers!! I'm so jealous. I always wanted a pair of Ropers

Sun Dogs

I remember one of my first years teaching telling my teacher friends about the cool rainbow around the sun. In the banana belt of the Black Hills, I never experienced a "sun dog". They only occur when it's VERY cold. I'm sorry to say I've seen them more than once this winter.

Amika was visiting her school friend Sadie. Amika was measured and weighed last week. She is very tall for her age and is at the healthy weight of 13lbs. By the way, Sadie is 4 months older than Amika. :-)

Great News!!

We just found out today that we are out of LEGAL RISK! That means she is all ours! In three months we will do the legal finalization. But that is just a formal thing. WHOHOOO!

Surprise 40th Birthday Party

I can't believe Joel did it. But with the help of our lake neighbor Julie they pulled one over on me. I honestly had NO IDEA!! I thought we were meeting Kevin and Marianne for dinner. AND wouldn't you know it. SURPRISE!
